Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment have announced that Elden Ring has surpassed 25 million copies sold. Last reported number was 23 million on February 22, which means it sold another 2 million in a bit less than 4 months.

Elden Ring launched on February 22, 2022 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. It received critical acclaim, scoring 95 on OpenCritic and being crowned 2022 game of the year at The Game Awards. It was FromSoftware’s biggest launch, hitting 953,426 conccurent players on Steam and selling 13.4 million copies in first month of release. It is FromSoftware best selling title.

Also a reminder that the prestigious Japanese studio launched Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon last year, returning to the classic mecha action franchise, but making use of their recent releases. It’s often claimed to be the best mecha action game to date.

FromSoftare has something for this year as well, an expansion for Elden Ring titled Shadow of the Erdtree and it’s set to launch on June 21 for all platforms. It will feature a new area, story, characters, 8 new weapon types and over 100 new weapons, over 10 full bosses and side bosses, and much more. This will be first and last expansion, confirmed by FromSoftware’s President and Creative Director Hidetaka Miyazaki.
